Matted & Tattered for when you only want a small amount of chalk-style or texture paint

Are you like me, a lover of chalk-style paints but tired of limited colours, limited way to purchase, limited sizing and limited funds?  Then look no further!

Matted & Tattered is a chalk-based powder that you add to commercially bought paint (I use sample pots from the paint or hardware store) to create your own matte chalk-style or old-world texture paint.

​

Matted & Tattered is 1 product that can be used 3 ways to create:

​

- Chalk style paint
- Added texture and patina
- Thickened paint for palette knife painting

I created Matted & Tattered in my home studio out of frustration because I couldn't find a small enough can of chalk or mineral paint for my small art projects, and was sick of throwing away half-dried out larger tins of paint.  

​

Matted & Tattered is hand-mixed in small batches in my studio and is designed to be used with the small sample paint pots from the paint or hardware store, the amount of paint is small, and with colours, the sky is the limit.   Matted & Tattered is not suitable for use with gloss or semi-gloss paint.
